The 2024 releases from Robert Ampeau has given a very rare opportunity to enjoy mature vintages at prices that are practically at the level of recent en primeur releases. As these wines have remained unmoved in the cold cellars at Ampeau since bottling, the conditions for a very slow, undisturbed ageing are perfect, showing impressive vivacity and freshness alongside the obvious mature fruit character.

The Combettes is one of Puligny's top 1er Crus that shares a border with Meursault and the wines are typically rounder and more generous than you expect from Puligny. Following a sunny, dry harvest, 1996 represents another five-star vintage for white Burgundy.
