An exceptional and distinctive white wine from the El Enemigo winery in Argentina, crafted by renowned winemaker Alejandro Vigil in collaboration with Adrianna Catena.

This Torrontés is sourced from a single vineyard in the Gualtallary sub-region of the Uco Valley, Mendoza. The Uco Valley is known for its high-altitude vineyards (around 1,400 meters above sea level), which experience cool nights and warm days, allowing for slow grape ripening. This results in wines with intense aromatics, vibrant acidity, and concentrated flavours. Unlike many Torrontés wines that emphasise pure fruit and floral aromas, this wine introduces a more serious and structured side of the grape, offering texture, minerality, and subtle oak influence without sacrificing freshness.

Drinking window: 2023 - 2033

What the critics say:

94/100Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous

"The 2020 Torrontes Gran Enemigo hails from a high-altitude vineyard, 5100 feet above sea level, in Gualtallary, Uco Valley. It was aged 18 months in SOOL French oak barrels with a delicate flor veil. Yellow in hue with a greenish sheen. The enticing nose presents faint muscat notes from the grape complemented by bitter orange, hazelnut, and jasmine aromas alongside hints of fennel and dill. The palate shows a dry, compact character, vibrant acidity and a bold texture. A new, captivating flavor profile for Argentina's beloved Torrontés variety."
