One of the world’s most legendary wines, this latest release is yet to be reviewed, but given Antinori’s unwavering excellence and a string of top scores in recent vintages, we expect nothing short of something special.
2022 was a solar year in Tuscany, but crucially with well-timed rainfall that tempered the heat, allowing for a refined, balanced vintage. Many top Super Tuscans have ABVs under 14%, bringing freshness, vibrancy, and a lifted energy compared to the more opulent 2021s. Monica Larner (Wine Advocate) has praised the elegance of 2022 over the richness of 2021 during her tasting of Ornellaia at Bolgheri—a promising sign for Tignanello. She was a huge fan of the 2021 Tig (98 points, WA record high), so could we see that record broken later this year? Don’t wait to find out…
Alongside Tignanello, we’re thrilled to offer Albis 2021, the flagship wine from Antinori’s Chilean estate, Haras de Pirque. Located in the Maipo Valley, this pristine vineyard was initially a joint venture before Marchese Piero took full ownership in 2017. The 2021 is the best release to date, with 94 points from Vinous, and its incredible how quickly Antinori has turned this estate around. I’ve enjoyed several vintages of this charmer—it’s fantastic value for drinking now, yet structured enough for long cellaring.
Delivery estimated in autumn, 2025. One for the cellar, one for the table.
