The 2022 vintage in Tuscany was all about balance—plenty of sunshine, but with just the right amount of rainfall to keep things fresh and refined. Unlike the richer, bolder 2021s, many top Super Tuscans from 2022 come in under 14% ABV, making them more vibrant and energetic. Monica Larner (Wine Advocate) even highlighted the elegance of the 2022 Ornellaia over the richness of 2021—an exciting sign for Tignanello. This stunning Maipo Valley vineyard, now fully owned by the Antinori family, has been transformed into a top-tier producer. The 2021 vintage is the best yet, earning 94 points from Vinous, and it’s incredible how quickly this estate has risen. We’ve enjoyed several vintages of this charmer—it’s fantastic value, drinking beautifully now, but also built to age.
