Clemens and his wife Rita are a humble yet hugely respected duo, having built a cult following over the past 30 years for their incredibly precise, richly textured, and terroir-driven wines. In the world of Riesling, the Mosel is king, and their wines capture its essence like no other.
Since 2015, they’ve been part of Respekt, a group of biodynamic winemakers. But Clemens has been ahead of the game for decades—he ditched herbicides back in 1976 and embraced organic viticulture long before it became mainstream. Nowhere else is the connection between vine, winemaker, and terroir so perfectly expressed—and honestly, we’ve yet to find Rieslings quite like these.

"Tasting this essence of Mosel riesling is like falling into a deep well of stone fruit and citrusy freshness. So many wildflowers and wild strawberries. Totally astonishing concentration and precision, the balance of fruit and minerality breathtaking. Only medium-bodied, but with an endless finish that’s so caressing you simply can’t pull yourself away. Very limited production. From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt certification. Drink from release."
"The Marienburg Raffes 2023, as it is referred to on the central part of the label, was fermented down to officially dry levels of residual sugar and was bottled in August 2024. It initially shows a very noble and refined reduction of smoke and wild herbs, before opening up to offer tar, blackberry, licorice, minty herbs, and spices. The wine is intense and quite focused on the layered and straight palate. The finish proves slightly lighter and juicier, and also displays slightly more tannins and tartness, in need of integration."
