This dry Riesling comes from the "Fahrlay" parcel within the Marienburg vineyard, one of Busch's most prized sites, noted for its distinctive blue slate soils. The hallmark of this wine is its sharp minerality, driven by the blue slate soils, which gives it a steely, almost salty character. The wine has a linear, focused profile with vibrant acidity that provides freshness and lift.
Clemens and his wife Rita are a humble yet hugely respected duo, having built a cult following over the past 30 years for their incredibly precise, richly textured, and terroir-driven wines. In the world of Riesling, the Mosel is king, and their wines capture its essence like no other.
Since 2015, they’ve been part of Respekt, a group of biodynamic winemakers. But Clemens has been ahead of the game for decades—he ditched herbicides back in 1976 and embraced organic viticulture long before it became mainstream. Nowhere else is the connection between vine, winemaker, and terroir so perfectly expressed—and honestly, we’ve yet to find Rieslings quite like these.

What the critics say:
"Incredibly deep and complex, with a wealth of candied citrus and stone fruit aromas and a touch of flint. Very dense, yet somehow with a touch of lightness on the medium- to full-bodied palate. Then comes the imposing finish, which is bone dry and moves gracefully over the palate and off into the distance. Matured for two years on the full lees. From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt certification. Drink from release."
"The Marienburg Fahrlay 2022 >reserve<, as it is referred to on the central part of the label, displays a superbly fresh and precise nose of lemon, candied grapefruit, minty herbs, greengage, spearmint, bergamot, lavender, lime tree, and jasmine. The wine is gorgeously focused and energetic on the palate, where plenty of spices and zesty elements make for an incredible focus. The finish is vibrating, with intense flavors of lime and grapefruit zest. This splendid dry Riesling has no mark of the hotter 2022 vintage and is a huge success."
