The 2023 vintage at Domaine Michel Gros reflects a straightforward growing season, yielding wines of remarkable clarity and finesse. The fruit was healthy and uncomplicated, and the resulting wines benefit from soft tannins, making them accessible in youth while promising the capacity for graceful ageing.

"As a monopole vineyard, 'Clos des Réas' carries unique distinction. This 2023 rendition opens with sweet red fruit aromas of raspberry and strawberry. The palate is more structured, with fine tannins that add depth and longevity. Aged in 50% new oak, it is poised to evolve beautifully with time, revealing further nuances."
Our note

This vintage exemplifies the domaine’s hallmark of precision and balance, with each cuvée offering a distinct reflection of its terroir and thoughtful vinification practices.

What the critics say:

92-94/100Neal Martin, Vinous

"The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Clos des Réas 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with black cherries, blueberry and violet scents, and better-integrated oak than some of the other cuvées. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, but there is some lovely fresh red berry fruit here, with white pepper and allspice lingering on the finish. One of the best wines from the domaine in 2023."
