As I am the American (really the New York) Guru, I cannot put my festive holiday home together without thinking of my Thanksgiving table. I often profess, wine is my love, however cooking is my passion, so for me it is all about my Thanksgiving wine and food pairings and the recipes that I look forward to making year after year.

Pinot Noir is the leading star of the Turkey show, however I couldn't resist the two little Italian starlets to keep on hand while cooking, and my favorite Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay to scratch the white wine itch.

Pinot Noir Perfection: Lovely red fruit, mid weight, bright acidity and length is all you need to pair off my Thanksgiving Specialties:
Sage roasted Turkey with wild mushroom gravy
Brioche stuffing with fennel, dried apricots and sour cherries
Cranberry Sauce in Port & cinnamon
Caramelized Brussel sprouts with candied Chestnuts
Sweet potatoes in achipotle chili adobe sauce
Bourbon Pecan Pie
Spiced Pumpkin pie
Drunken Apple pie infused with Calvados

Domaine Amelie & Charles Sparr Jardin d'Eden Pinot Noir 2018, Alsace: This was an absolute eye opener for me. Stunning! Soft, perfumed velvety and deep fruited with a plush melange of spicy red fruits. Juicy, peppery and long. Alsatian Pinot at this level, how can you not be a convert?

Fromm Pinot Noir The Curation 2020, Marlborough NZ: One of our hidden gems. Wild blackberries, raspberries with hints of clove & spice. Slight saline with fine integrated tannins. NZ Pinot at its best!

The Hilt Pinot Noir 2018, Santa Rosa CA : Thanksgiving is not complete for me without a Cali wine on the table. The Hilt was founded in 2008 and is now owned by Stan Kroenke whose properties include Screaming Eagle and Bonneau du Martray. A magnificent explosion of red and cherry fruit, medium-bodied with silky tannins and a long rich finish.

My cellar is full of these 2 Italian beauties and perfect for guests popping in and out. Bright, charming and so easily drinkable at a fantastic price:
Donnachiara Aglianco 2021, Campania
La Giaretta Volpare Valpolicella 2021, Veneto

Bourgogne Blanc Domaine de Montille 2019, Burgundy : Gorgeous, from one of my favorite Burgundian domaines. Pears and white plum aromas, juicy, lively, concentrated and long.
