Likened to Armand Rousseau by Neal Martin and one to watch, rising star Xavier Horiot's reclamation of Domaine Launay-Horiot must be one of the most remarkable stories in the Côte d’Or. These are absolutely up there with the best red Burgundies being produced in Pommard and Chambertin.
From the Volnay side of Pommard, just below Rugiens-Bas, this tends to be one of Launay-Horiot's bolder cuvées with excellent Pommard typicity. There is always great concentration and power, yet the whole act remains impeccably balanced and sophisticated.

"An even deep purple. The bouquet is a little less exuberant than the Perrières, but still builds in intensity. The fruit profile is similar but with more refinement and some dark cherries. Useful acidity, refined tannins, fine persistence. Tasted Nov 2024 ****"
