The Ochotas are part of a new wave of Aussie producers that make wines with more elegance and balance - so fine wines but more drinkable than some of the blockbusters of the past.
Less than 400 cases of this wine are made, from vines planted in 1946. Grapes are handpicked early in the morning from three sites in the western reaches of the Vale. Soils are red loamy clay with ironstone over deep limestone.
