The 2023 vintage marks another impressive chapter for Domaine Pacalet. Known for their commitment to organic and biodynamic farming, the domaine continues to refine their hallmark style of elegance and purity. In a year characterised by both quality and quantity, the wines reflect exceptional concentration and precision.

"A blend of climats, including En Champs and La Platière, this Gevrey offers a sumptuous expression of ripe red cherry, underpinned by structured tannins and a mineral edge. The cool, sunny microclimate translates to a wine of balance and indulgence. A “gourmandise” Gevrey that is both fleshy and moreish, leaving a lasting impression."
Our note

Pacalet’s approach to whole-bunch fermentation can sometimes lend a rustic edge, but this vintage reveals no such characteristics, showcasing refinement and seamless integration. With only 5% new oak employed, the wines maintain a delicate balance, focusing on fruit expression and terroir. Reds spent an extended 14–16 months in barrel, lending complexity and finesse without over-extraction. While not a high-acidity year, the whites shine with freshness and depth, and the reds balance elegance with structure, offering nuanced profiles that will reward both early enjoyment and further aging.

Pacalet features as one of the Top 15 Négociants & Cooperatives in Tim Atkin's Burgundy 2023 Special Report.
