Fleurie 'Vendanges Entières', Jane Eyre, 2019
- Red Still
- Gamay
Whether crafting wines from the Côte-d'Or, Beaujolais, or her native Victoria, Jane's wines exude her distinct style—delicate and inviting, adorned with supple tannins and vibrant, luscious fruits.
Through gentle extraction techniques, thoughtful oak usage, and early bottling, Jane has created Burgundies that are accessible and appealing even in their early stages.
What the critics say:
"Exclusively from 80-year-old vines, mass selection on the famous Labourons area high in Fleurie. Gamay in perfect condition, with 60% whole bunch, the vinification was followed by ageing in demi-muids (500 litres) for 10 months. Pure and smooth with vibrant acidity. Very obviously Gamay raciness but with a very gentle texture and some persistence. This should drink well for quite a few years but is already charming."
"From Les Labourons, on the western edge of the appellation, from 80 year massal selection vines. Time for a date check, we have been saying 80 year old every vintage. 60% whole bunch vinification, then raised in 500 litre barrels. This is a deliciously perfumed yet tightly knit Fleurie, which avoids o the overly sensual side: it is a very happy juicy Fleurie with just a little crunch behind. Very good length! Tasted: October 2020."
