This Domaine, spanning a wide range of villages, has made a name for itself with exceptional white wines - and over the past decade, its reputation has soared.

The wines are defined by their purity, minerality, and a beautiful balance of weight and rich fruit. What truly sets them apart is their precision and focus. With Céline Fontaine and her husband, Fred Robert (formerly of Armand Rousseau), leading the charge, this is a Domaine worth watching.

What the critics say:

91-93/100Neal Martin, Vinous

"The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet La Boudriotte 1er Cru comes from lower down the slope. It has a taut and fresh bouquet—a little austere at first—but gradually reveals its energy. The palate is well balanced with a brisk, edgy opening and citrus-fresh orange zest notes toward the penetrating finish. This has great potential. I can imagine it marrying perfectly with fruits de mer."

OUR GROWERS

Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard

Founded in 1985, this family domaine has grown steadily and now encompasses 12 hectares of meticulously tended vineyards. While their roots lie primarily in Chassagne-Montrachet, they also nurture precious plots in Volnay and Pommard. Today, Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard is in the capable hands of Céline Fontaine, who carries forward the family's winemaking tradition.
