Within the house of Albert Bichot, Domaine Long-Depaquit is well known for its careful selection of Chablis styles.
Château Long-Depaquit sits at the centre of the village of Chablis, surrounded by a rose garden. The approach is to limit grape yields in the vineyard, intervention and oak in the winery to develop wines with purity and focus on expression of the individual plots. The winery was modernised in 2014, leading to reduced environmental impact and a step up in quality.
Drinking window: 2024 - 2032
What the critics say:
"Here too the expressive nose plays on the edge of exoticism though there is a bit more classic Chablis character present in the form of seashore, shellfish, white pepper and pretty floral wisps. The rich and generously proportioned medium bodied flavors possess a beguiling texture thanks to the abundant dry extract. It is promising and worth considering. 2028+"
"Fine pale lemon. The bouquet has a vegetal reduction which soon blow off to leave the stones beneath. Soft white fruit through the middle, then a more biting acidity, lightly lemon scented at the back. Will make a sound Vaillons for drinking moderately soon. Drink from 2024-2026. Tasted: October 2022"
