Domaine Rossignol-Trapet is a renowned biodynamic estate based in Gevrey-Chambertin, at the heart of the Côte de Nuits. The domaine was formed in 1990 when brothers Nicolas and David Rossignol inherited vineyard holdings from both sides of their family.
Today, they farm 14 hectares, including prestigious parcels in Chambertin and Latricières-Chambertin, alongside a strong line-up of Gevrey village and Premier Cru sites. Committed to sustainable practices, Rossignol-Trapet has been fully biodynamic since 2008, producing wines that are elegant, precise, and deeply expressive of their terroirs.
What the critics say:
"A discreet but perceptible application of wood and menthol nuances frame the liqueur-like dark berry and spice aromas. There is both good volume and vibrancy to the caressing medium weight flavors that possess a succulent mid-palate that contrasts somewhat with the stony, youthfully austere and moderately firm finish. Very good quality here."
"Cask sample. Mid crimson. Sweet red-cherry aroma, fragrant and very Beaune. A little bit of stewed fruit on the palate but this may be the sample. Firm tannins require time to mellow. Harmonious even now but needs time for the pleasure factor to come to the fore."
