The 2023 vintage reflects a year of moderate warmth with consistent sunshine, leading to steady, well-paced ripening. Although temperatures weren’t extreme, the shift to warmer nights and milder days contributed to extended growing periods. This translated into wines that are strikingly fresh, with lower alcohol levels, vivid acidity, and vibrant character—brighter and more approachable compared to recent years.
Both red and white wines achieved impressive yields, the largest ever recorded for the estate, with terroir expression and balance shining through. For reds, comparisons to the 2017 vintage are apt, showcasing elegance and precision. Whites carry their hallmark freshness and minerality, further underscored by the decision to reduce the percentage of new oak due to the larger volumes produced.

What the critics say:
"One third whole bunches here, racked before vintage. Pure deep purple. Rich deeper fruit on the riper side of raspberry but still with good grip on the palate. Extends very nicely at the back. Tasted Oct 2024 ****"
"This lovely, high-toned wine boasts raspberry and pomegranate fruit aromas with an edge of mint and smoke. The texture is fairly rich but not heavy, with well-managed tannins and a lingering finish. The grapes are from 1.62ha planted in fairly deep clay soils near premier cru Avaux. They are fermented as one-third whole clusters and the wine is ageing now in casks, less than 10% new to ensure the purity of fruit."
