I have adored, indeed occasionally worshipped, the wines of López de Heredia for many years"
Neal Martin

López de Heredia has been crafting legendary wines since 1877, when Don Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta founded the estate. Perched on the alluvial slopes overlooking the River Ebro, right between the Alta and Alavesa sub-regions, Tondonia is the heart of the winery’s portfolio and its most iconic vineyard. Today, the winery’s labyrinthine cellars provide the perfect conditions for aging, allowing their wines to develop over time before release.

The 2013 vintage spent six years in barrel, with careful racking twice a year, followed by more time resting in bottle. In total, it has evolved for over a decade in López de Heredia’s perfectly controlled environment, ensuring it’s released when it’s ready to be truly enjoyed.

This new release is yet another feather in the cap of this star of this sensational estate.
