Formerly “Mischief & Mayhem”, this exciting domaine and micro-negoce, based in Aloxe-Corton, is ringing in the changes, with founders Michael and Fiona Ragg moving on, and the arrival of a new name (the historical name for Aloxe), upgraded facilities, and a new winemaker: Alexandra Wilson.

Alex previously worked for Benjamin Leroux and prior to that for fellow Australian Jane Eyre, before joining the domaine in August 2024. Longstanding consultant and organic and biodynamic specialist Bernard Zito “The Swiss Army knife of the Burgundy wine world” (Winehog Steen Öhman) stays on to advise.

The Wine

As well as maintaining various contracts with growers, the domaine owns some interesting plots around the Côtes de Beaune, including the vineyard in Aloxe Corton by the winery, alongside three Premier Crus - in Savigny Les Beaune, Pommard, and even 0.3ha of Puligny Montrachet ‘les Referts’. The domaine farms organically and with minimal intervention, and uses very little new oak (from 2024 onwards the Referts will be aged 100% in Clayver ceramic balls). The resultant wines are individually distinctive, aromatically complex, vivacious and harmonious, from the fascinating Coteaux Bourguignon, Blanc “En Bollery” (a white from the bottom of Clos Vougeot), right the way up to the Puligny 1er Cru.

This is an address on a new trajectory and definitely a name to watch, and we are excited to introduce the wines for the first time to Honest Grapes Club Members.
